Water Conservation Landscapes – Putting it All Together to See The Big Picture

May 14, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

$30

Do you want landscaping that is more resilient for today and the climate changes ahead and less dependent on municipal or well water? This class will help you create a unified landscaping plan that integrates many of the individual principles used to “design for water”. We will address how to integrate all of the applications that are covered in the Cabrillo Extension Program’s Green Home and Garden series. Topics covered include:

  • Rain water in soil and cisterns
  • Greywater
  • Plants that require less water
  • Pervious surfaces
  • Gardening and irrigation practices for a water neutral landscape

Bring photos of your garden and a scaled plan or sketch. This will be important for our small design groups.

The class will include a site visit to state-of-the-art examples of these principles.

Register by February 29 for early bird pricing ($30). After February 29th the course costs $35.

Total Gallons Pledged

Together, since July 1 2015 we have committed to conserving 3868270 gallons of water a year. Your pledge will help us reach our goal of saving 7 million gallons this year, or maybe as much as the 9.6 million in pledges last year that blew our goal out of the water!
