California’s New Front Yard: Creating a Low-Water Landscape

February 11, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm


Transform your thirsty lawn into a water-saving landscape featuring drought-tolerant trees, native grasses, perennials, and shrubs. Morning talks are followed by hands-on activities and demonstrations. This workshop is suitable for homeowners and landscape professionals alike, all are welcome!

Speakers include:

  • Introduction: Andrew Fulks, Assistant Director, UC Davis Arboretum
  • Landscape Design: Martin Quigley, Director of Gardens and Grounds, UCSC Arboretum
  • Plant Species Selection: Brett Hall, California Native Plant Program Director UCSC Arboretum
  • Lawn Removal: TBA
  • Irrigation: TBA


Advanced registration is required and includes morning refreshments, a catered lunch, and course materials. $25.00 for CNGA members and $30 for non-members.
