Greywater Recycling System – A Hands-on Installation Workshop

Get ready for a fun hands-on workshop that will give you all the information and experience you need to install a system to repurpose and redirect wastewater for landscape and garden irrigation.

This is a two part class with a morning lecture and an afternoon devoted to a hands on installation of a laundry to landscape gray-water system at a local residence.  The morning lecture covers code requirements, greywater compatible products and plants, greywater parts and materials identification, calculating irrigation field size and plant water requirements, mulch basin construction, creating a design for your system, and maintaining your greywater system.

Don’t forget to bring a lunch, sunscreen, and a water bottle! You may also want to bring/wear a hat, clothes you can get dirty in, and gloves.

Course Schedule:

  • 8:45 – 9:00 am: Arrive and check-in
  • 9:00 am – 12:00 pm: Lecture in classroom
  • 12:00 – 1:30 pm: Lunch break and travel to installation site
  • 1:30 -4:00 pm: Greywater system installation
