Tour an Aptos Water Neutral Landscape

October 13 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Are you curious how to cut water use in your yard and garden without sacrificing beauty?

Terry Russell and Wendy Baron are opening up their Aptos hills property to the community for a garden tour. The yard provides an example of the important features of a “Water Neutral Landscape” that maintains thriving plants without relying on drinking water from wells or municipal water sources. Russell and Baron co-created their landscape with Golden Love of Love’s Gardens. Through the use of native and low water use plants, rainwater
catchment, two types of greywater systems, and other features, Russell and Baron have been able to drastically reduce their water use and are approaching water neutral.

The tour is free and open to the public, but people need to register here in order to get the address. There will be guided tours throughout the afternoon, and people will be welcome to take self-guided tours as well. Delicious, healthy snacks will be on hand courtesy of Tastes Like Love.

Total Gallons Pledged

Together, since July 1 2015 we have committed to conserving 9388895 gallons of water a year. Your pledge will help us reach our goal of saving 7 million gallons this year, or maybe as much as the 9.6 million in pledges last year that blew our goal out of the water!
