Walkways, Pathways and Patios

August 15, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Create an elegant and environmentally friendly patio or pathway that is also watershed friendly. Help return water to the earth, and save money in the process. In this class you will learn why pervious hard-scapes are important to prevent storm run-off and keep water onsite. We will discuss cost-saving sustainable hardscape materials and what embodied energy is and why it matters. Lecture, hands on and field trip included.

***This class is held over two days, Saturday August 8th and 15th, 1-4 pm both days.

Ken Foster has a certificate in Ecological Horticulture from UC Santa Cruz and was an apprentice at the UCSC Farm and Garden. He is a landscape contractor, a certified permaculture designer and the owner of Terra Nova Ecological Landscaping.
